IPod Touch by SAMSUNG.. .. YEh! u read it right..

There's no doubt that the APPle IPod Touch has the cool design appeal , but not everyone wants to pay a premium for Internet connectivity on their MP3 players or portable video players. Some people like me may instead prefer to cut the cord between their player and headphones, and for those users, there's the Samsung YP-P2, a touch-screen device with a sweet interface and stereo BLUETOOTH capability. So this product can give you guyz a feel of IPod touch....... Of course, it is for people who cant afford an IPod touch. But ... mind it.. its also not at all cheap. SAmsung has priced this player 200$ for a 4 gig version and 250$ for a 8 gig version. So ,thats definitely not cheap. But ..if you read further , you will realize that player's worth its price.

Although it's noticeably smaller, the Samsung P2 resembles the IPOd touch more than any other MP3 player. Like the Touch, the P2 offers no tactile controls, instead relying on its (3-inch) touch screen for interface navigation. Now the fact is -the similarities basically end there... Ya! rest everything is quite different. The player's interface is decidedly less IPod-like.
But if you ask me, I say its awesome. The interface is fun and customizable with 3 kool font n menu styles. Its also decent at the same time.

Another big deal about this player is its BLUETOOTH capability. This is the most compelling feature of this device. So there's no adapter required for those who want to cut the wires between their mp3 players and headphones, provided the headphones use bluetooth as well. The P2 can also be paired with Bluetooth speakers. And you can even pair the player with your cell phone; and you can use the P2's built in mic to talk. Now, thats wat I really like about it. I have never come across any mp3 player with such a cool feature.

Sadly, the Samsung P2 doesn't support a wide range of audio formats, just MP3 and both protected and unprotected WMA. However, it somewhat makes up for that by offering a large amount of sound effects, including a nine-band custom EQ. The device plays video in SVI or WMV and supports JPEG photos, which you can view while listening to music. There's also something called Datacasts, which are basically bits of RSS feeds. I dont know much about this. So forget it.!!

I should have mentioned this before that Samsung P2 is an audio enthusiast's MP3 player... Music sounds simply fantastic, and the 9-band user EQ--a rarity--makes it easy to tune audio to your exact specifications. (Several other enhancement options help, as well.) It also comes with an excellent FM tuner that gets great reception and offers autoscan. The preset mode is also cool and unique.

According to me, Samsung P2 is almost entirely impressive. One drawback is that the touch screen is not always responsive, so it sometimes takes a couple tries to get the desired action done. However, the player really rockz in all other areas. Photos look stunning on the screen--they are tremendously bright and crisp. Videos look also excellent. Another important factor-Battery life- is great for audio (35 hours) and good for video (5 hours).

At last , in one line--The Samsung YP-P2 is an excellent-sounding MP3 player that will appeal to those looking for a kool touch-screen interface and stereo Bluetooth capability.

ZuNE NaNo

Friends,

Today, we are taking a look at Microsoft ZUNE just to have a initial impression of the device. We are looking at the 4 & 8 gigabyte versions. While many have criticized the original Zune (and to some extent, the Zune 80 GB) for its bulkiness, the 4GB and 8GB models are narrow, sleek and thin.. not sleek exactly!! Still, no one would dare to complain about their sizes compared to the iPod nano, especially not when the Zune also includes a larger screen(1.8 inch glass LCD) than the first two iPod nano models.Microsoft's decision to use a glass covered LCD instead of plastic worked, as the screen is scratch resistant and gives a sophisticated feel.

You can also call it zune NANO. Infact, Zune really resembles 2nd generation iPod nano in size. Smaller Zune gives you almost all the feature you would find in higher capacity 80 gb. It is a flash memory based player with FM radio. It has a really great main menu screen with large fonts which makes it crystal clear even from a distance. The big deal for the latest ZUne is, innovative support for podcast(audio n video both). Another big thing, that I liked about it is the ability to do wireless syncing with your home computer. I think microsoft has done a remarkable job by including this feature in its new range of ZUNE.

Using the Zune also means using the Zune's PC-only software. Infact, the device is 'locked' until attached to a PC running ZUNE software. Zune software has clean and bright interface. Fans of Windows Media Player will definitely need some time to adjust to the new file and category organization, but I believe the new system is much better. It is less fexible than Itunes(smart playlists are not possible).

The player doesnt support older WMA-DRM9 music files. A main feature which has been removed is EQUALIZER. The attention getting Zune PAD controller also works well. With the Zune Pad, users can navigate menus by either pressing or sliding their finger in four directions and select items by clicking the middle of the pad.... Now this thing is kool!! Everyone wants to have a good grip n control over their mp3 player. Having such an awesome navigation pad lets you browse through your music very easily.

Microsoft has priced the product to make it affordable for most customers. Another reason is to give its rival( APPLE) a tough competition. The 4 gigabyte version costs 149 dollars and 8 gigabyte 199 dollars.
So if you are not already tied to an Ipod or thinking about making a switch, the new 4 & 8 gb ZUNE is a great alternative. Audio and video podcast, wireless syncing, good batterylife, wide range of format support, thin design with awesome navigation controller.. .. A LoT of KoOl FeaTurEs!

While the full-size Zune is a better value, the flash memory used in the 4GB and 8GB versions make them better suited for physically active or sporty users
